*THE ART IN MY HOME* Oh art! I’m a firm believer that displaying art and/or photography in a home adds visual interest. You may be a minimalist but have at the very least, one piece of art on a wall. I’ll show and tell of some of my faves. There’s my gallery wall that’s in my living room. It has a mix of thrifted finds, big-box store purchases, art from artists selling on online marketplaces, my own photography, DIY creations, vinyl record photography and some objects. One of my faves that is on that wall is the nude man that looks to be somewhat drawn or painted. I created it just to be displayed by me in my own home by using a photograph of a model out of an old magazine and then photo editing it to look unlike a regular photo. It now looks painted or drawn. I also drew the design that is on the the border mat using a charcoal pencil. And then there’s the nude lady on her back holding the flower. That’s another fave. She’s nude but it’s not graphic nudity. It’s a tasteful pose on a vinyl record cover from 1969. I found an artist that goes by En Shape on Society6. They made that geometric artwork that you see there on the top of the wall. There is so much great art and artists at Society6. There is a small sepia print taped to a wooden square object. That print is a picture of a historic school building with big trees beside it. I shot the photo myself. I also love the vintage 1950s square photo of a woman that is at the top of the wall. She’s not anyone I know. Not family. Just liked the picture enough to buy it from an antique mall. I keep my pictures of family and friends in a basket of photos that I have displayed on the bottom level of my coffee table. There is a map that shows Kentucky and Tennessee found at a thrift store. And some more on that wall that I don’t care to tell about right now. They are all wonderful images to me though. My bedroom has a framed vinyl record cover of a belly dancer. I love that image. And there is a photo I shot of a palm plant.
Ok. Your turn! Show and tell about the art that you have displayed.
